The Ontario Rifle Association was started in 1872 and held many marksmanship competitions that were heavily attended by the Canadian Militia. This award was given to Gnr J Little of the 2nd Grand Trunk Railway Artillery Battery in 1874. A nice early example of an award presented by the ORA to a well know desirable Canadian unit. This style of fur cap was popular in Canada during the first half of the 19th century.
