South African Constabulary Slouch Hat Plate Set

Offered is a complete set of insignia for the post 1901 units of the South African Constabulary. The set includes the large Kings crown Slouch Hat badge, the small wedge cap badge and 2 shoulder titles. There was a large contingent of Canadians that served in this force during the war and after. 1861 Brass Canada Militia Shako Plate - repaired

Standard plate in brass with original lugs, but with what appears to be a repair to the crown. The solder pooled in the crown indicates some kind of repair. If I wear to guess it was to put the cross back on the crown. I cannot tell for sure, the seam is not that obvious. Priced accordingly. A nice affordable example for display.  read more

Early Canadian Militia Glengarry Badge - Dug

A dug example, with signs of being unearthed. Soiling on the back and the face having a dark earthy patina with some wear. The lugs are still intact. No idea where this was found, possibly a camp site in Niagara, the trail to Red River, or in the field at Batoche? Who knows. Would be substantially more $ if in better condition. A nice dug example. 1914 - 15 Star to 107163 Pte William D Crooks 2nd CMR

A typical WWI star with correct lettering to a good unit. Crooks, from Vancouver, was KIA Oct 2, 1916 Battle of the Somme (MR23). Commemorated on Vimy Memorial. Crooks Served in Steinecker's Horse in the SA War.

WWI Pair with Badges to Sgt AW Daiton

A pair to Sgt AW Daiton of the 1st Canadian Mounted Rifles. The grouping includes his medals, insignia to the 1st Canadian Mounted Rifles, his early aluminum dog tag and service pin.
