It is suggested that black insignia of this type was issued to the RCR, but this is not confirmed, it is more likely they were issued to Rifleman of Militia Rifle Regiments. Matching and with 95% of their paint. read more

QSA marked to 1497 3rd Class Tpr WC Jones of the SAC. Joined up in Toronto April 25, 1901 and stationed with H Squadron, Heidlberg. A few scratches on the rim, otherwise a good example with bars to Cape Colony, Orange Free State and Transvaal. read more

A picture of a named soldier of the RCR c.1900. His name is 7616 Pte MJ Carter. Carter was with the Canadian Militia 2nd Regt RCA prior to the war. Assorted Lot of WWI Battlefield Relics and Artifacts
Apparently these items were collected at the Somme Battlefield by one of my clients in the 1990s. The items include boot cleats, damaged spent cartridges, bolts from dug outs, empty cartridges dated 1915, balls from detonated shrapnel shells, pieces of jagged shrapnel and barbed wire, pottery from run jugs and other bits and pieces. A pen set given to BGen JM Ross of the CEF for his personal desk. A neat commemorative presented to one of Canada's best Generals by the Oxford Rifles in 1936. Possibly he was their Honorary Col. Weight of marble makes it expensive to ship, but if you are local we can get it to you another way. A nice addition to the desk in your war room. read more
