WWII Winter Mountain Ski Cap

The cap is similar to the German M43 in shape and design and was probably not popular for that reason. These were produced for Canadian and British troops training in mountain or winter warfare. Not a common cap and in great condition. Dated 1943, a version of this cap was made for Korea in Bush olive drab cotton and these may have been issued for Korea for wear with BD.  read more

A complete kit with the contents all there. The tin seal is obviously broken, and the navy gray tin shows signs of marring and has a content list in the lid. The box is dated 1944. cool grouping.  read more

9th Voltigeur Shako

Offered is a nice example of this Quebec City unit. The unit itself is one of Canada's oldest regiments. The Shako is an early Edwardian shell, with cock feathers and helmet plate from the era, but with replaced vinyl trim. Offered here is a standard infantry frock coat used in field training to a member of the 10th RG named Baker from Toronto. It has the blue facings, including the cuffs as for infantry, and the standard two breast pockets, with 7 button front. Offered is the entrenching tool shovel head and pick without its haft. These were found in a stack strapped together as issued to supply depots. The strap was broken and the heads are being sold. Typical Issue WWII duffle bag of the type used later in the war. These bags were stuffed with soldiers belongings, including winter kit, such as greatcoats, sweaters, jerkins, etc and change of undergarments.
