A very interesting piece of brass trench art. The shell has been shaped into a halberd with etched lettering JG. No rime or reason to this piece. Maybe made for a flag pole. read more

4 Victorian CDV Photos of British Officers and Men
We offer here a group of 4 CDV photos 3" x 5" dating from different period of the mid to late 19th century. One photo is of an Ensign in the 1856 uniform with the 1855 shako on a table, another of a Battery Sergeant Major with the 1876 Overseas Helmet. The other two appear to be artillery with interesting insignia. An interesting lot. read more

CDV of a Victorian Cavalry Officer c.1900
A clear and crisp, well preserved portrait of a Dragoon in full dress. A nice study, in good condition. I believe this gentleman is with the 6th Dragoon Guards. His name is on the back and it is dated 1890. Maybe a research project, possibly served long enough to be in South Africa. read more
CDV Cavalry Senior NCO in Stable Jacket C.1880s
A classic portrait of a dashing Cavalryman holding the rank of WO1, probably the RSM, with his massive mustache, possibly a Hussar. His rank is clearly on his cuff on his right lower arm. Slight fading, but a good subject with lots of character. No idea what unit he is with, but the address of the photographer places him in Ireland. His medals are hard to identify. read more

White metal, with Victoria's cypher, the badge was worn at the junction point of the horses chest where 3 straps intersect to a leather pad. The badge would be secured with screw posts to this pad... read more
