RCD Dragoon Helmet c.1912
The RCD were issued dragoon helmets about 1912, replacing the universal helmet in use since 1876. This example has the full liner intact, the original chin scales have the leather backing, and the black plume is from the era made with horse hair, retaining its rosette on the crown. The cap badge is early manufacture with the Springbok badge. The shell has no dents and bright colour.

RCD Cavalry Pattern Frock with chain mail 1909-10
This tunic is in fair condition with its blue collar, plain cuffs and its epaulets removed to accommodate chain mail. Blue collars are for the RCD. 1876 Universal Helmet Scarlet Pugaree for Infantry
