Small CDV of a Gnr of the Guelph Battery c.1890s

A fine photograph of the very basic dress uniform of the CFA. What stands out is the rare belt buckle consisting of a simple grenade. I have seen these on the market, and they are often sold as French Napoleonic plates, when in fact they are a local Canadian Militia veriant.
