French 2nd Empire Infantry Officer Shako Plate and Gorget C.1848

A set of French Officer insignia from the 2nd Empire. The rooster replaced the imperial eagle as the national symbol during this reign and was common to all insignia of the French army of the period. Decent examples of the type, the silver wash finish is well worn.
