Hessen Sergeant's or Officer's Pole Arm
An original pole arm dating from the mid 18th century, This blade is typical of the German style and was of the type used by Britain's Hessen Troops during the American Revolution. The blade is secured to the pole with a screw base that has had some wear. It is not as tight as it would have been when it was originally made, but it is a hand made weapon and displays well. The original pole has been cut down so that all in all it stands about 6 feet. A decent example of the type used during that conflict.
