A Universal Police Forage 2 piece cap badge

The brimmed forage cap we are all familiar with today saw its introduction in the Early 20th century, c.1907. There were numerous cap badge patterns used by police forces across the Dominion, some with Canadian motifs and some more generic, in the American style. This would be a classic American style with its laurel sprig surrounding the title Police, Sergeant or Chief. Canadian Police forces often added a crown to the cap to differentiate the style from US counterparts. This white metal badge is partnered with an enameled white metal crown. See the attached picture to see how it was worn. A beautiful badge circa 1920 with good aged patina and both of its lugs intact.
