Artillery Officer Field Belt with Sabretache Straps
This belt is a fair example of the belt rig worn by Artillery Officers in the field from the 1870s to 1900. It has the Victorian rectangular artillery belt buckle with all straps and loops in place, sword slings and straps for the pain black leather Sabretache with artillery plate. If you have the Sabretache or an officer's tunic you should get this to finish the set. The leather is whitened many times in its life, but the coating is losing its finish leaving a more slightly duller, yellowed and chaffed surface, with some stiffening of the leather, but still an original belt from the period, and hard to find in this configuration. A conservationist can clean this up like new, priced accordingly.
