Royal Canadian Regiment Officer Forage Cap c.1912

Offered is a Field Officer cap to a member of the RCR. The peak of the cap has a bullion wire border indicating field or senior officer rank. The standard Regimental colour scheme includes the royal midnight blue body with red piping and band. Mounted is a Victorian Officer cap badge of the RCR. This would not be surprising as senior officers often retained their old badges for are, regardless of who the reigning monarch maybe. This is not regulation, but a personal choice. The lining is intact with the maker, Muir Cap Company, stamped into the leather liner and printed on the crown. There is some minor moth tracking on the band at the rear and front, but no holes anywhere. The original leather chinstrap buttons are standard Canada Militia gilt pattern. A really nice cap.
