Officer's Torrin Cap C.1870 - 80s

The Torin Cap was introduced in the early 1870s in the British Army and adopted by the Canadian Militia. It was worn by Officers in the field wearing full dress or patrols. Many pictures can be found of officers wearing this cap during the Northwest Rebellion, including the General Commanding. There appears to be only the one style for line officers and and the Artillery. The Rifle regiments wore them in green. Find them referenced in Clive Laws book Fuss and Fashion. No mothing at all.
