RCAF Escape Axe

These handy tools were supplied on all of the Bombers in service with the RAF and RCAF to escape the fuselage if and when the aircraft caught fire to escape by parachute before it crashed or blew up. Seconds counted and most aircraft were soft skinned allowing such a tool to be effective. A must have for an air force collector. Dated 1938 and manufacturer marked Chillington with AM stamp. Normal wear and tear.
