Infantry Officer Frock Coat 1899
Offered is an Infantry Officer scarlet frock with blue facings and cuffs, pleated patch pockets on the chest, Victorian Officer Canada Militia Buttons and rank of 2nd Lt. The tunic suffers mothing on the arms and pockets and some minor staining on the fly. Needs some restoration.
A good tunic of the type used by Boer War volunteer officers reporting for duty in full scarlet field gear for departure to Halifax. Once in place on the coast the Khaki uniforms were issued to replace these tunics before boarding for Africa. Collar Label with maker mark and clear date "1899". A hard tunic to find with this date and reasonable condition to display officer kit from the period with a white helmet. Priced accordingly.
