5th Royal Highlanders of Canada Drum Major Doublet c.1906

Here we offer a very attractive upgraded uniform for NCO Drum Major or Sergeant Major of the 5th RHC or Black Watch. Find this in Clive Laws book. The tunic retains its rich scarlet colour on the upgraded cloth, it is laced, piped and embroidered in gilt bullion wire thread as for Senior NCOs. The facing are royal blue with gilt lace on the collar and the shoulder titles have embroidered gilt bullion titles. The rank on the right cuff consists of four inverted chevrons with an Edwardian crown above. In the cavalry this rank denoted the RSM, but the infantry it was used for Drum Majors and RQMS. The tunic is overall good condition, other than a tiny orange discoloured stain on the left shoulder and mothing on the left reverse shoulder. The upgraded lining is in great condition. About one inch of collar lace in loose and requires a stitch and collar dogs are missing. A very pleasing example.
